This man's indigo dyed under kimono was dyed in three different steps. The white floral motifs were resist dyed using ori-nui and boshi techniques. The entire garment was then quickly dipped into an indigo bath creating the light blue ground. The area surrounding the white floral motifs was then dipped again in indigo resulting in the bright deep blue normally associated with the dye.
