A wonderful example of the change in scale of designs in the first half of the 20th century. Enormous brightly colored chrysanthemums kiku explode across the black ground like fireworks. The direction of the fabric reverses from panel to panel adding to the dynamic movement. Small simplified blossoms undulate around the larger blossoms adding to the rhythmic design.
