Kimono

Tonbo can allude to either autumn or nationalism. Here large tonbo, dragonflies, appear to hover and glide above a surface of white paving stones on this lightweight summer kimono. The feeling of fluttering wings is achieved by placing the dragonflies against blocks of blue and yellow hand-tied wefts, the same color as the wings but less densely woven.
