This richly coloured haori is decorated with swirling lotus blossoms.Stylised lotus blossoms became popular motifs in the west after the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922. A scrolling, twisting black line links the blossoms enlivening the background, which is possibly a simplified karakusa vine, a popular motif often shown with blossoms.
