Motif

grapes, budou

An elegant Taisho period haori with white asymmetrical exes decorated with clusters of grapes and leaves. Areas of hand-tied weft alternate from right to left, highlighting and lending a sense of verticality to the design. Dashes of lacquered gold urushi threads are intermittently shot through the warp and weft lending a bit of shimmer to an otherwise muted design.
