Manchukuo

Manchukuo was the puppet state that the Japanese created in 1932 after their invasion of Manchuria. It is often represented by a train of The South Manchuria Railway, given to the Japanese by the Treaty of Portsmouth which ended the Russo-Japanese war in 1905. Manchukuo was presented to and perceived by the Japanese populace as the jewel in the imperial crown, a new green and pleasant homeland, where they were encouraged to visit as tourists and to settle and farm.
