Very good condition

This small delicately woven whisk, which is probably but not definitively Tutsi, was probably used in beer making. It has a design of horizontal bands of elongated opposing stripes in black and natural coloured fibre in a manner much associated with the Great Lakes region of Africa. As we have said elsewhere it is often difficult to attribute many basketry objects with conviction from this region.
