This carved and scorched gourd shows the geometric patterning common to Tutsi baskets. The zigzag motifs encircle the gourd with an addition of star-bursts to enliven the design. There is a basketry neck lashed on by fiber strips that pass through narrow slits in the neck of the gourd.
