Old Tutsi Conical basket

This graceful tall basket is a dramatic and rare example of Tutsi basket making. The elongated patterned lid is almost twice the height of the basket body and the bold black zig-zag design continues from the base of the basket halfway up the lid, with the design finishing with three black bands encircling the slender upper half of the lid.
